Pre and POST NATAL PILATES

I get asked this a lot—are your classes safe for pregnant woman?

At Studio Lennox we love to train pre and post natal clients.

Lets talk pre natal first.

Starting to exercise when you become pregnant can be daunting and you should definitely stick to a class you are comfortable. The different trimesters will give you different levels of energy so it's important to listen to your body. If you have been training regularly before you became pregnant then you should be able to continue training with the correct modifications throughout the majority of your pregnancy. Remembering that it is still always best practice to get clearance from your doctor. The 1st trimester can be a very tiring one, so you may want to take it easy on yourself, think more sculpt and stretch class versus sweat.

Post Natal Pilates.

Once the baby is here, depending on what type of birth you had you may not be back to training for at least 8-12 weeks. When you do come back you will still be doing plenty of modifications to look after and heal the body, especially if you have some abdominal separation, which is completely normal and can be strengthened.

If you have any worries about coming to Studio Lennox for Pilates, whether it is Sculpt, Sweat or Stretch, please contact us xo
